Tonight: TRIPTYCH's world premiere at TIFF!
Triptych is the first film adaptation of Robert Lepage's celebrated 9-hour theatre work LIPSYNCH, co-created with Miller and 9 other international artists. Lepage and co-director Pedro Pires have taken 3 of the 9 interconnected stories from the play and woven them into a hauntingly beautiful cinematic experience. Although he doesn't appear on screen, Miller's voice is heard in some of the dubbing. If all goes well, we may see the other 6 sections adapted for the the big screen, in which Miller would play the role of Jeremy (as he did onstage for so many years).
From the TIFF website
Michelle, Thomas, Marie. Three characters whose lives will intersect to create a narrative geometry that is as essential to the content as it is the form of Robert Lepage and Pedro Pires's Triptyque. This haunting film, based on the Lepage's celebrated theatre work Lipsynch, explores means of communication, language (and the loss of language), and the unexpected modes through which we connect.
